Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30 pm

Ages: Adults and Youth (ages 15 and up)

This is an ongoing class that meets once a week on Wednesday nights. Students may join at any time.

This class uses a punch card system. Each card is good for 4 classes and expires after 8 classes are held. Pick which 4 dates you want to attend. You may purchase an additional card once the first is finished to continue to attend classes. Each punch card costs $60.

New students will be contacted by the instructor before their first class to discuss their ukulele experience. Those who are new to uke will use their first punch for a one-on-one session with the instructor to go over the basics and prepare them for joining the group class.

In this class, you will learn hand positions, tuning, chords, and strumming, as well as simple songs that you will be able to play and accompany others. In the support of a group setting you can master basic ukulele skills. Trial Ukuleles are available for rent for $5 per week. Let the instructor know if you need to rent one.

Registration Deadline: no deadline, join at any time, class is ongoing.

Location: ARTS HUB - First United Methodist Church Waupaca, 720 Demarest Ave, Waupaca, WI 54981

Note: Hub Registrations must be completed one student at a time. Multiple classes may be added for that student, but a separate order is needed for each participant.

Get notified by email if a seat opens up in this class.

Instructor Barb Achten

Having come from a musical family, I have been involved with music my whole life .  I have sung in groups, quartets, and done solo work. As a part of the music group Can’t Lie Low, I played guitar and bass. For the last seven years I have pursued my love of the ukulele. I enjoy the ease and simplicity of the ukulele, and look forward to sharing my enthusiasm with you.
