Hub Steering Committee

We are a group of community members of varied backgrounds and ages who love the arts.

We believe that everyone has creative potential.

We know that participating in the arts gives people confidence, helps improve focus, and has an overall positive emotional impact.

We look forward to the Hub providing opportunities for people to discover, explore, and nurture their creative potential.

The Arts Hub is where creativity comes to grow!

Carol Couillard

Executive Director

I am honored to serve as the Executive Director of the Waupaca Arts Hub. I believe that learning inspires growth, and I love creating opportunities for our friends and neighbors to discover music, art, and STEM. When people come together to learn, our whole town thrives. At the Arts Hub, we celebrate the connections between schools, local businesses, and nonprofits that make Waupaca such a creative and caring place to live.

Rachel Bailey

Administrator

Fine Arts education had a large impact on who I grew to be as an adult. I have experienced firsthand how being involved in the Arts gives youth outlets for self-expression, creates a sense of community for them, and teaches lessons that reinforce those learned within the academic classroom.  I am excited to be apart the Arts Hub in presenting opportunities to the community of Waupaca and strengthen partnerships that enrich the education of our youth.

I joined the Hub Committee because I am certain that with some hard work, we can, as a group, create a phenomenal resource for our community.

I believe the arts can transform and enrich everyone’s lives. Creating the HUB for our community gives everyone access to this transformative opportunity.

Tammie Jo Berg

Why am I on the Hub committee? I ran a similar business in Iola and administration/organization is something I feel very comfortable with.

Laurie Schmidt

I am a Waupaca resident and work in our great local public school district. I was especially interested in the community arts hub committee because music has always been an important part of my life. The Hub is an exceptional benefit to our community and offers something for everyone!

Laura Colbert

The Waupaca Arts Hub is exactly what our community needed - it provides the missing arts and culture link for us all. It is an inclusive place for everyone to be themselves and explore their cultural side. I am thrilled and honored to be on this committee and watch the Arts Hub grow into a marvelous cornerstone of our community.

Liz Kneer

Arts and music have been an important part of my life, and diverse opportunities for creative expression will only enrich our community. I'm excited to be a part of the Hub and bring these resources to Waupaca!

"I believe that channeling energy into creative outlets instills confidence and a sense of accomplishment in people of all ages, and that it is important to explore new ideas and learn new skills throughout all stages of life. The Arts Hub is inclusive and fosters a culture of creativity that I believe is vital to a thriving community, and I am excited to be a part of it."

I feel so fortunate to be on the Arts Hub’s Committee at this exciting time.  When my kids were young I had to drive them long distances for music lessons.  The Hub is local and offers so many classes in music, art, and cooking lessons for young learners and adults like me.  Most importantly is the safe and nurturing environment that enhances creativity.

Cindy Kelm

I have been a member of the Waupaca Community Arts Board for almost four years. My career began in Early Childhood Education and later progressed to School Counseling. I have always believed that music and the arts benefit people of all ages. I have enjoyed taking art and music classes at the Arts Hub - what a wonderful gift, the Hub is to the Waupaca community!

Gail Bertram

I am on the Hub committee because I have benefited so much from taking piano lessons and art classes. I want to invest my time and resources into an organization that gives individuals the opportunity to grow and create through teaching love of music and art.

Davette Leonard

As one of the art teachers at the Arts Hub, I want to contribute to spreading the word about all the things the Arts Hub offers to both kids and adults in Art and Music. I love the variety and ever-expanding classes that we teach…from traditional art forms to tech art forms. The growth that lies ahead is very exciting!

I like having the Arts Hub as an affordable local music, art, and cooking class option for children and adults of all ages to have access to in the city of Waupaca. I have been taking piano lessons for 3 years, after pausing for 20 years, and have really enjoyed working on this skill again. The kids have grown so much through taking piano lessons for the last couple of years with learning how to do recitals, doing challenges in lessons, and getting confidence in their newly acquired skill. As a parent, It's fun to watch them grow!

Since its inception, the Arts Hub has touched lives in ways both personal and collective—enriching our community and my own family alike. As teachers and learners, we have witnessed how it nurtures inclusive, high-quality programmes that grow with the community and remain open to all. Art is the heartbeat of our shared humanity and a cornerstone of civic life. It allows us to give voice to our inner world, even as the world shapes who we become. The Arts Hub stands as a beacon of creativity, openness, and encouragement—empowering our community to face today’s challenges with imagination, unity, and hope.
