Kathy Hammond

Kathy Hammond, former choral director at Waupaca High School, has joined the Waupaca Community Arts Hub teaching both piano and voice lessons for intermediate and advanced students of all ages.

Kathy is a working musician who brings 33 years of music education experience to the Arts Hub. She also teaches at Noteworthy Music Studio in Stevens Point, as well as General Music for the Tomorrow River Virtual Charter School.  In addition to the Waupaca School District, Kathy spent 18 years as the Choral Director for the Winneconne Community School District.

She is a member of the classic rock band STEEM, K&J Duo with her husband John, Triune Voice, and the vocal ensemble Jazz Central Voices.  Kathy has sung professionally at various theme parks and in Las Vegas, as well as with the Big Band Reunion and The Dean’s List Big Band. 

She also has led music in worship as a pianist, cantor, and choir director at various churches in northeast Wisconsin. She has accompanied the Oshkosh Chamber Singers, many high school musicals, and collegiate student recitals.  

Kathy has a bachelor’s in music education from Millikin University in Decatur, Ill., and a master’s in educational technology from Marian University. She is a member of the American Choral Directors Association, serving at the state level as the coordinator of the Wisconsin Choral Directors All State Choral Project, and as a former faculty member of the WCDA Vocal Jazz Institute.

Kathy also has worked as vocal coach for various summer camps, including the WSMA Honors Project choir camps and UW-Green Bay’s Jazz on the Bay camp. She is listed in Who’s Who Among American Teachers. 

Shelley Radley

Shelley Radley recently joined the teaching staff of the Waupaca Community Arts Hub and will be teaching piano and voice for all age groups. Shelley is a native of Evansville, WI, and upon graduation from Evansville High School attended the University of Wisconsin Whitewater, where she received a Bachelor of Music Education Degree in 1979.  

She taught general music, voice, and piano in various Wisconsin School Districts for thirty-three years, retiring from full-time teaching in 2012. Shelley and her husband Dan (the Hub’s band instrument instructor) moved to Waupaca from Northwestern Wisconsin in 2015 upon their retirement. For over forty years, Shelley has been an active adjudicator in voice for the Wisconsin School Music Association and is currently a substitute teacher for the Weyauwega/Fremont School District. 

Over the years she has performed with the Eau Claire, WI Women’s Chorus, The Red Cedar Chorus in Rice Lake, WI, and the Choir and Handbell Ensemble at the Barron United Methodist Church. Currently, she sings with the Waupaca Community Choir and serves as pianist and vocalist for the Parfreyville and First United Methodist Churches here in Waupaca.
